Political polarization in Indonesia has been escalating due to the rise of identity politics in electoral contests. This phenomenon threatens social stability and erodes democratic values. In this context, siyasah wasathiyah, or moderate politics, emerges as a relevant concept to address extreme political polarization. This study aims to analyze the urgency of applying siyasah wasathiyah in Indonesia's electoral politics from the perspective of the Qur’an. Using a qualitative research method and a literature review approach, this study explores Qur’anic verses related to political moderation and examines the implementation of this concept in Indonesia’s political system. The findings indicate that siyasah wasathiyah promotes the principles of balance, justice, and unity, which, if applied in electoral politics, can reduce polarization and foster a more harmonious democracy. This concept rejects all forms of extremism and encourages collaboration among key stakeholders, including political actors, religious scholars, and civil society. Therefore, strengthening siyasah wasathiyah in political policies and the education system is crucial to shaping inclusive and moderate leadership in Indonesia. This study is expected to provide both conceptual and practical contributions to building a more stable and civilized political system.
